Joseph's journey took him from his native Liberia to the Sahara desert from where he headed north towards Europe, crossing borders illegally in the back of a pick-up truck with 20 other young migrants.

But when he is randomly selected in the US green card lottery system, Joseph finds himself in New York - alone and unemployed in a huge metropolis, pressured by his family's poverty and burdened by the expectation of success.
